Presented herewith are two cases with radiographs that serialize the treatment procedures and successful outcome with multidisciplinary treatment modalities. CASE-1
A 40 year old patient presented himself at the clinic with an imploring wish, “to have a HAPPY SMILE”. Careful diagnosis revealed missing anterior teeth, overretained deciduous teeth and permanent 1st molars. The patient was wearing removable dentures to compensate for the missing anterior teeth.
TREATMENT PROCEDURE INVOLVED :
- Root Canal Therapy and post core restoratios for the existing nine permanent teeth.
- Extraction of the overretained deciduous teeth.
- Placement of implants in the missing teeth spaces where bone levels were adequate.
- Extensive crown and bridge therapy to bring the entire dentition back to form, function and esthetics.
CASE-2
A 65 year old patient recovering from cancer of the pharynx had undergone radiation therapy and subsequently developed extensive caries on all the teeth at the cervices.
TREATMENT PLANNING INVOLVED :
- Extraction of the Totally Broken Mandibular incisors.
- Removal of the cervical decay and root canal therapy for all the 16 teeth.
- Post/core Restoration with extensive coronal build up of all the teeth.
- Crown and Bridge Therapy to restore the teeth to form and function.
- Oral Hygiene Counselling.
